Health & Medical Declaration

• I declare that I am in good health and have no known medical condition, injury, or illness that may render participation unsafe.
• I acknowledge it is my responsibility to seek medical advice prior to participation if any doubt exists regarding my fitness or wellbeing.
• I understand swimming carries inherent risks including, but not limited to, slips, cramps, fatigue, drowning, and exposure to weather conditions.
• I accept full responsibility for maintaining my personal health, hydration, and safety during the event.

Swimming Ability & Supervision

• I confirm that I possess sufficient swimming ability to complete the nominated distance unaided.
• I agree to follow all lawful directions and safety instructions issued by event officials, volunteers, pool staff, or lifeguards at all times.
• I acknowledge that this is a community participation event and not a competitive race, and that safety and enjoyment are paramount.
• I understand that participants under 12 years of age must be accompanied in the water by a responsible adult at all times.

Acknowledgement of Risks & Disclaimer

I acknowledge that participation in The Sunday K Community Swim (“the Event”) is voluntary and undertaken at my own risk. While The Organiser will take reasonable steps to promote participant safety, it cannot eliminate all risks associated with aquatic activity.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, I hereby release and discharge The Organiser, its officers, employees, volunteers, sponsors, and agents (“Released Parties”) from all liability for personal injury, loss, damage, or claims arising from or connected with my participation in the Event, except where directly caused by the proven negligence of a Released Party under applicable Australian law.

I consent to receive first aid or emergency medical treatment deemed necessary by qualified personnel in the event of illness or injury during the Event.

I acknowledge that The Event is conducted at a council-operated aquatic facility and supervised by trained lifeguards. I agree to comply with all lawful directions of lifeguards, pool staff, and event officials, and understand that failure to do so may result in immediate removal from the Event.
